The Yale hESC/iPSC Core Facility announces that we will now provide a new service to knock out genes in pluripotent cells using CRISPR. The technique used can be either plasmid based or lentivirus based. It can be done with our in-house hESC lines and iPSC lines or custom-provided lines. Although we do accept live cells, we prefer frozen vials that have been confirmed to be negative for mycoplasma contamination. For cell lines derived from patients, they need to have been tested and found to be negative for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. The service takes from 3 to 5 months to complete and the cost is $6,936.62 per gene for Yale University investigators. This includes delivery of 4 clones targeting two different regions of the gene of interest, each with 2 clones.
